My Top 5 Lip Glosses to Wear This Summer

If there is one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I am never fully dressed, without a gloss gracing my lips, it’s true! Lip gloss is personally my favorite step of the makeup application process because it pulls the whole look all together and gives me some nice beautiful juicy looking lips. And as summer is approaching, we want to keep our lips nice and shiny and juicy! Here are my top 5 lip glosses to wear this summer.

1. Ami Cole Lip Treatment Oil

Truly a TREAT for your lips (headassery will stop now, maybe.) This was one of the first lip oils I had ever tried and I knew that this was the standard! It’s described as an oil-to-gloss treatment that leaves your lips feeling nourished. It has a non-sticky formula that is so comfortable to wear all day (it lasts a while too) and leaves your lips with a beautiful shine and perfect for the summer. I have only tried the original color they came out with, Excellence, which is a rosy-brown but they have released 3 new shades, a light pink, a juicy red and a clear. The nourishing ingredients include baobab seed oil, for moisturizing, camellia oil for hydration and passionfruit seed oil acting as an antioxident. 2. INN Beauty Lip Oil

And let’s talk about another fave of mine, Ms. Candy Apple Glaze #1. When I think of juicy this is one of the many things I think of. It contains natural red root oil which visibly soothes and moisturizes dry chapped lips, fermented pomegranate to gently exfoliate, apple extract which is rich in antioxidants and vitamin c and hydrates lips, and a plant based plumping complex that helps plump the lips. This oil not only smells incredible but the shine is truly out of this world. They have varying colors ranging from pink to brown so there are so many possibilities with this one! 

3. Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly

Tower 28 describes their jelly as “the shine of the gloss, the comfort of a balm and a pop of color.” I love how lightweight this gloss feels on the lips and the smell is incredible. I have both the Milky Lip Jelly and the ShineOn lip Jelly. The shine on both is gorgeous, but the milky one has more sheer, but pigmented, color pay-off compared to the ShineOn. This is described as a moisturizing lip treatment with a blend of 5 nourishing oils to soothe and protect lips. 

4. About Face Cherry Pick

Now this is described as a “lip color butter” but as far as I know it, this is a lip gloss too  lol! This a super glossy and high shine lip balm that is so pigmented and comfortable on the lips. It smells like a hint of cherries (it’s not giving cough syrup though) and contains pomegranate flower extract and cherry butter to plump and moisturize lips. They have so many colors to choose from. My favorites so far are Date Me and Kiwi Fuzz!  

5. Revlon The Gloss

Picture me: I just switched purses and made it to my destination, only to realize, I forgot my gloss! I ran into a Walgreens across the street and took a chance on Revlon and I love! I have the clear color, and it is such a shiny gloss that I love to use by itself but even more over a matte lip. This is also lightweight, non-sticky and there is no scent so I think this is not only perfect for the summer, but also for those who are sensitive to scents. It’s infused with agave, moringa oil and cupuacu butter to keep lips nice and hydrated.
