It’s so refreshing to see Black owned brands get the recognition they deserve. It’s important that the beauty industry see that all skin tones and hair types can be included when entrepreneurs but their mind to it! And listen when Black people do something, they DO IT and do it well okay. Hence, it is without a doubt the influence of Black culture is evident in Allure Best of Beauty 2023 awards, where they have shown their merit and thus commended for it.
Epara
Epara won the Luxury Brand Honorable Mention in the Allure Best of Beauty 2023 awards and will be a reasonable hope for contenders in the coming years for black fashion brands.
A truly luxury skincare brand that black women deserve is a mix of nourishing and natural ingredients. The brand was created and founded by Ozohu Adoh, particularly designed to work on skins of color.
Rosen
The fantastic line of skin care solutions, such as cleansers, body lotions, masks, etc., are quality products that cost less than $25, which is why Rosen won the Allure Best of Beauty 2023 Best Affordable Brand.
Jamika Martin took six years to perfect the budget light brand since she was a student studying at UCLA. Her brand started with the concept of making a great cleansing product that is affordable and full of quality. The driving motivation behind this concept was that a cleanser is the core element for every woman who wants a good skincare routine.
Bevel
This is the only black fashion brand in this list, primarily for men, but women can also use it. Its best-selling product has won the Best Razor Award at the Allure Best of Beauty 2023 due to its smooth shave that most men desire without worrying about cuts.
The brand Bevel was created alongside From, which is a haircare brand, both for men. The Co-founder wanted to provide his customers with the best shave possible, which he has been desiring for so long. Black men have coarser skin, whereas regular blades have difficulty not just due to coarser skin but thick and curly hair.
Beauty Bakerie
The last item on our Allure Best of Beauty 2023 list is a black-owned cosmetic brand, Beauty Bakerie, which is all about giving you the most enlightening glow for colored skin. Beauty Bakerie won Best Skin Care and Makeup Brand in the 2023 awards.
It is challenging to produce beauty products for colored skins created and founded by Cashmere Nicole, who changed the complete scene for Black-specific products. It started as a passion product in 2011 due to her breast cancer diagnosis, but she never knew it would garner so much love and popularity.
