New Year, New Skin? Yes Please!

Hey Honey! Happy New Year! No, I can’t believe it’s 2022. With all the things I have to worry about in a pandemic, doing my skincare has sort of been an escape for me. In that moment, it’s just me, my music and goodies that my skin loves. If you’ve been looking to take better care of your skin, here are some products that have been taking my money again and again and I think will be great for you too.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser 

Top two and it’s not two okay!  This is the perfect gentle cleanser that removes makeup and sunscreen so easily without leaving you feeling dried out. That’s really key with every cleanser, your face should not feel tight after cleansing and this one just *chef kiss* is it.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner 

*gasp* Another fresh product? YES! I won’t lie, I first bought this product strictly because it has roses in it, but let me tell you, after using it for three weeks, I knew this would be a staple for me. It contains hyaluronic acid and rose water to soothe and hydrate your skin and prep it for the next skin care steps!

Good Molecules Discoloration Serum 

I ain’t never had my dark spots disappear as fast as they have with this. It contains tranexamic acid and niacinmide to improve the look of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. And it’s only $12! What’s better than a super affordable product that works?.Good Molecules is one of those hidden gems and I really need EVERYBODY to get with the program because their products and prices are so bomb.

Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum 

A lot of products nowadays have hyaluronic acid in their ingredients list, but if you still like to throw it on your skin separately like me, Good Molecules has got you covered. For $6 you can add more hydration into your routine and get that smooth and supple skin! Again, $6…YOU CAN’T BEAT THAT.

Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum 

Now for all my bougie people out there, Glow Recipe offers a great hyaluronic acid serum as well! I like to switch up my products occasionally and really loved the way this serum had my skin bouncing okay. It’s infused with plum and,“5 molecular weights of next-gen hyaluronic acid,” that will keep skin nice and hydrated (and will look super cute on your dresser).

Ixora Botanical Beauty Sea Moss and Centella Toner 

 Every now and then if I’ve been wylin out with exfoliating or trying too many products at once, my skin will react badly and I’ll need something calming, this is the best thing to reach for. It has a gel texture and feels soothing immediately when put on. The sea moss which is emollient rich will moisturize and protect irritated skin and centella will support rapid wound healing and improve strength of the skin.

No7 Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex Night Concentrate 

I know, retinol is a pretty scary word, but you don’t have to be afraid with this one. No7 retinol contains a slow encapsulation system so it will not irritate your skin like other retinols would. I got to work on a campaign with my mom with No7 using this and I was so happy with how our skin was looking! Skin will look smoother, feel softer and look more radiant in only 2 weeks!

Ixora Botanical Beauty Donkey Milk and Argan Oil Moisturizer 

I don’t think I’ve ever met a moisturizer as nourishing and moisturizing as this right here. This is the only moisturizer I have bought for the past year and that’s saying a lot as someone who likes to switch up their products every now and then. The donkey milk repairs damaged skin, argan oil is rich in fatty acids to moisturize the skin and it also contains aloe leaf juice to soothe the skin and protect it from environmental stressors.

Black Girl Sunscreen 

And I could not NOT include the most important step of them all, sunscreen. Black Girl Sunscreen was made specifically for Black skin because a lot of sunscreens was out here just leaving us looking ashy. It is highly moisturizing so in the mornings I skip my moisturizer and just put this on, and it’s fragrance free so it’s great for those with sensitive skin.
